West Virginia’s top recruit in the class of 2023, wide receiver Rodney Gallagher (5-foot-10, 160-pounds) has signed his national letter of intent for West Virginia.

Gallagher is a consensus four-star recruit on all four major recruiting outlets ESPN, 247Sports, Rivals and On3. He committed to West Virginia back on May 25 of this past year.

Gallagher is also a consensus top 10 player in the state of Pennsylvania, with ESPN ranking him the highest at No. 2 in the state and Rivals ranking him the lowest at No. 9. He’s also a consensus top 60 wide receiver in the county with his highest ranking being No. 13 (ESPN) and lowest being No. 58 (Rivals).

He recently explained to WVSN that, while he was always looking to stay loyal to the Mountaineers, his commitment did waver some as he waited to see if the program would retain head coach Neal Brown.

The Laurel Highlands product will next be competing in the Under Armour All-American Bowl in January. He closed out his tenure at Laurel Highlands by compiling 2,039 total yards of offense and 28 touchdowns while switching between quarterback and wide receiver during his senior season.
