WVU Star Jahiem White Makes 2025 Preseason All-Big 12 Team
Only one West Virginia player made the 2025 Preseason All-Big 12 Team, but he’s the most important Mountaineer. As announced by the conference on Monday, Jahiem White is one of two running backs on the team.
The junior running back will be entering his third season at WVU this fall. And after deciding to stick around to play for Rich Rodriguez, White will be relied on to lead the West Virginia offense.

With CJ Donaldson departed for Ohio State, White will serve as the featured back for WVU in 2025. Despite the coaching change, White decided to stay in Morgantown for another season, and will see NFL Draft buzz at the end of the year if he manages to succeed in his new role. PFF listed White at No. 10 on their list of the best running backs who decided to stay with their school instead of hitting the transfer portal or exiting for the NFL Draft.
Head coach Rich Rodriguez, now in his second stint with the Mountaineers, said during the spring practice period that White was the only player he felt confident about listing atop the depth chart, a testament to the rising juniorโs talent amidst a roster in flux.
White missed time during the spring with an undisclosed injury, but should be more than ready to go before the season begins.
Baylor’s Bryson Washington is the other running back on the Preseason All-Conference team with White.
