West Virginia’s Jahiem White Provides Update on Progress

Jahiem White was the only player to enter spring ball with his position on the depth chart secure, but he’s also been the most notable player unable to practice. Now after two weeks of Rich Rodriguez referring to his star running back as “banged up,” he’s almost ready to fully show his new coach what he’s capable of.
White hinted that he will be unleashed a bit this week and will at least be able to run some. “Running a little this week. Feels good to be almost back!,” said White on Saturday.

White is literally the only player Rodriguez has felt comfortable mentioning as having the No. 1 spot on the depth chart for any position.
While Rodriguez has shied away from providing any details about whatever has kept White out of action, he’s always maintained his top back will be fine.
Even though fans were concerned that White would leave WVU after Chad Scott’s the departure, he remains bought into the new era of Mountaineer football.
He even expressed his excitement about the upcoming 2025 season to help the program sell season tickets. “Donโt miss this season. Itโs going to be a goodie.”

White led West Virginia in rushing each of the last two seasons, running for 842 yards and four touchdowns in 2023 and 845 yards and seven scores during the 2024 season.
He currently has over 1,900 yards from scrimmage and 14 touchdowns so far in his WVU career, a career thatโs not over yet.
PFF even White listed at No. 10 on their list of the best running back who decided to stay with their school instead of hitting the transfer portal or exiting for the NFL Draft.
