2024 Netherlands G Evan van der Plas Receives WVU Offer

2024 Netherlands G Evan van der Plas received an offer from West Virginia. van der Plas announced the offer on Wednesday afternoon.

“Blessed to receive an offer from West Virginia University,” van der Plas wrote on Twitter.

van der Plas (6-foot-5) currently plays for Triple ThreaT Basketball Academy at the age of 17. van der Plas is a fast guard that can accelerate in transition and finish at the rim. The Netherlands native can turn defense into offense. van der Plas included highlights of his game on his YouTube channel.

WVU currently has Syracuse transfer Jesse Edwards, who plays for Netherlands’ national team. Edwards has recently been with the team playing overseas in Latvia. WVU interim HC Josh Eilert was over in Latvia last week to visit Edwards and watch his friendly matchup against Egypt. Edwards finished with eight points and six rebounds in about 15 minutes.

West Virginia’s coaching staff most recently offered 2025 G Kiyan Anthony last Friday. Anthony is the son of former NBA star Carmelo. Anthony is a four-star prospect and is top 50 in his class. Anthony, a Glen Head, Ny. native, currently plays at Long Island Lutheran.
