4-Star 2027 LB Broncs Baker Calls WVU Football a ‘Top School’ After Visit
WVU football hosted four-star linebacker Broncs Baker on a visit Saturday and seemed to make a good impression. Baker shared a photo of himself and head coach Rich Rodriguez on X, calling WVU a “top school” for him in his recruiting.
WVU is in Baker’s top six schools as of Feb. 6 alongside Boise State, Michigan, Oregon State, Virginia Tech and Washington State.
Baker was initially supposed to come to WVU Football Junior Day, but spoke to the staff on Zoom instead.
Baker (6-foot-1 and 215 pounds) quoted a past WV Sports Now post on X to announce his original plans.
He previously publicized that he would reveal his top choices on Jan. 15, cutting down a list that had West Virginia competing with Arizona State and Kansas State. California and UNLV were also in the running at the time. West Virginia sent an offer to Baker on Nov. 24.
However, he also added the caveat that his decision may come down to what his brother does.
Easton Baker, a transfer linebacker out of Illinois, is on the hunt for a new program after deciding to enter the portal. Easton was a three-star recruit in the 2024 class. He experienced a redshirt season in 2024 and then appeared in one game during the 2025 season with Illinois.
Ranked as the No. 5 prospect in Utah by 247 Sports, Baker currently attends Stansbury High School in Tooele, Utah. He’s also considered the No. 28 linebacker in the country for his class and a top 400 player overall.
