WVU travels to No. 15 Oklahoma as they look to continue their momentum after the win over Texas. Let’s take a look at five things to know before the game.

Meet the Opponent: Oklahoma

Oklahoma enters Wednesday’s game at 13-3 but on a two-game losing streak. Over the previous week, the Sooners have lost to TCU (80-71) and Kansas (78-66).

Oklahoma HC Porter Moser dipped into the transfer portal once again, retooling his roster with Javian McCollum (Siena – G), John Hugley (F – Pitt) and Jalon Moore (Georgia Tech – F). McCollum is leading the Sooners in scoring at 15.0 points per game.

The Sooners notably brought back guards Otega Oweh (14.2 ppg) and Milos Uzan (9.2 ppg).

Suemnick Ill on Tuesday

WVU F Pat Suemnick came down with an illness on Tuesday morning, according to interim HC Josh Eilert. Eilert mentioned that Suemnick will be evaluated during the trip to Norman, Oklahoma before the Mountaineers take on the 15th-ranked Sooners.

“I get a text this morning that he’s come up with an illness too so he’s going to be checked out by the doctors and trainers this morning to see what he’s got going on,” Eilert said. “We’ll try to isolate him as much as we can as we travel up to Pittsburgh.”

“It’s that time of the year. You never know when you’re going to get that call in the morning that somebody came down with something. Sounds like Pat is that guy today,” Eilert added.

Suemnick is averaging 9.8 points and 5.0 rebounds over the last four games.
