Mountaineers in the Pros
Former WVU WBB Star Jordan Harrison Makes Roster of WNBA’s Fire
In a big step in her professional career, former WVU star Jordan Harrison has made the WNBA’s Portland Fire’s roster.
Harrison talks about making the team in this media availability below.
“I would say I’m just excited to be here, learn as much as I can. Be a sponge and listen to what everybody has to say.”
After going undrafted, West Virginia star guard Jordan Harrison signed with the WNBA’s expansion Portland Fire on April 16.
Harrison capped off her WVU tenure with a Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year nod, averaging 13.2 points per game and totaling 106 steals in two years as a Mountaineer.
“Yeah, it’s definitely been a great ride, I would say. I’m just very thankful and blessed for the journey here. I love it here and I wouldn’t have traded it for the world. But yeah, we had to build and I think that’s what we did,” Harrison said about her time in Morgantown following WVU’s loss to Kentucky in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

“We just build it up more each year. And yeah, I just want to thank Coach Kellogg for believing in me. But yeah, it’s definitely been a great journey and I’m happy to have done it with my teammates.”
Harrison followed head coach Mark Kellogg to Morgantown in 2023 when he was hired from Stephen F. Austin.
