Josiah Harris Finishes High School Career as Ohio State Champion

West Virginia signee Josiah Harris completed his high school career on Sunday night as Richmond Heights High School won the OHSAA Division IV State Championship. The Spartans won 50-29 over Tri-Village.

Harris did not play in the title game due to suffering a knee injury in the state semi-finals on Saturday. Harris was pushed in the first minute of the game, landing awkwardly. Harris was taken out of Saturday’s game but returned to finish with 10 points in limited playing time.

“Everything happened so fast,” Harris told WV Sports Now. 

Harris was a game-time decision for the state title game but was ruled out by his head coach Quentin Rogers.

“These are my brothers. They didn’t believe in us,” Harris said after the title win.

Richmond Heights finishes the season with a 25-4 record as Harris put up 19 points and 10 rebounds per game.

Harris is the size of a forward but plays like a guard. The 3-star recruit can score at all three levels on the court. Harris can drive to the rim and score while spreading out the floor and testing his range from three.

“I feel I can bring leadership, winning plays, rebounding and shot-making,” he said. “I can shoot it from anywhere on the floor. I can be versatile on defense and offense.”

After Harris is finished with his high school career, the Cleveland native will head to Morgantown to help give the Mountaineers a fresh, new look.
