As first reported by Jake Weingarten of Stockrisers, West Virginia has offered 4-star forward Tyrell Ward on Sunday afternoon. Ward (6-foot-7, 185 pounds) is a top 40 prospect in the class of 2022.
Ward, a Hyattsville, Md, native decommitted from Xavier on Sunday morning after head coach Travis Steele was fired. Ward re-opened his recruitment right after.
“Due to the recent coaching changes at Xavier University, I’ve decided to ask the university for my release from my NLI and will re-open my recruitment,” Ward said. “100% Xavier will still be an option. I’m grateful to Xavier for the love they’ve shown to me and my family throughout the process.”
