Chris Talley Fights for a Chance to Show Potential | WVU Football All 105

All 105 is a West Virginia Sports Now series profiling each member of the 2026 WVU Football Roster.

Brought in as another talented running back with potential, Chris Talley’s path is to try to impress his coaches enough to earn a chance.

Talley picked West Virginia over Power Four offers from Arkansas, Cincinnati, Georgia Tech and Pitt and even other notable opportunities from Liberty, Memphis, Southern Mississippi, Tulsa and several others.

Listed at 5-foot-11 and 188 pounds, Talley is a product of Whitehaven High School in Memphis, Tenn.

Talley received an offer from former WVU running backs coach Larry Porter in March, 2025,  ironically soon after Pitt, and then traveled to Morgantown for an official visit a couple months later. He also took a trip to Georgia Tech.

Last Year: Talley played running back for coach Rodney Saulsberry at Whitehaven High School.

Stats: He tallied 1,600 all-purpose yards and 18 touchdowns as a junior.

Post-Camp Outlook: Talley’s opportunity will likely only come due to an injury or several other struggling in front of him, but he made his presence felt during the spring and Rich Rodriguez isn’t afraid to utilize multiple running backs.

Projected Role: Depth back, redshirt season

Accolades, Highlights: Earned Class AAA First Team All-State in 2024 and Class AA in 2023 and won two track titles as well.
