Jahiem White will reunite with the man who recruited him to West Virginia at his next school. As expected, the now former Mountaineer star running back will join Neal Brown, his former Mountaineer head coach, at North Texas.

White announced his commitment to the Mean Green on Wednesday night. He revealed his intentions to leave WVU in early December and then promptly took a trip to North Texas to see Brown.

White will also be reuniting with his old WVU running backs coach Chad Scott, who Brown hired to serve in the same role under him again.

White has been recovering from surgery since September. โ€œThank you to Dr. ElAttrache and the staff at Kerlan-Jobe Surgery Center. Out of surgery. It went great. On the road to recovery, Thank you for all the continued prayers and support,โ€ said White at the time.

He went down late in the first half of WVUโ€™s loss to Ohio after the combination of a horse caller and face mask sent him to the ground. He was eventually helped off the field and then carted to the locker room.

At the time of his exit, White had ran for 40 yards on six carries with a touchdown. His 2025 season ends after just 24 carries and 133 yards. He scored two touchdowns in the season opening win over Robert Morris.

White totaled 1,820 career yards and scored 14 touchdowns in his career as a Mountaineer.

That’s no way to treat a player just because he is transferring away!
