In the Holler: Transfer CB Geimere Latimer Sets Record Straight on Why West Virginia
One of West Virginia’s top early transfer additions, former Wisconsin Badger Geimere Latimer has several reasons, both on and off the field, to look forward to his time as a Mountaineer.
In a conversation with WV Sports Now, Latimer set the record straight on if he views joining WVU as more of a personal or business decision.
In addition to his familiarity with Rich Rodriguezโs โHard Edgeโ philosophy and Alley’s system from his time at Jacksonville State, Latimer will have someone even closer to him on the roster.
His younger brother, running back Amari Latimer, signed with West Virginia as a member of the 2026 recruiting class.
“That played a large role, but another reason is because I believe in (Zac) Alleyโs philosophy as a defensive coordinator, being that I played in his system before. Itโs also a system that fits my playing style a lot better,” said Latimer.
