WVU Football Books 2027 OL Recruit Ethan Lawson for OV

The WVU football program and a recruit they have been in constant contact with recently are set to take their relationship to the next level in the coming months.

On Tuesday, offensive line prospect Ethan Lawson announced he has an official visit with West Virginia scheduled for the weekend of June 12-14.

“I am excited to announce that I will be taking my official visit to West Virginia University on June 12th -14th. Thanks to WVU and the entire coaching staff for this opportunity,” posted Lawson on social media.

Feeling that he fits what they’re looking for in an offensive lineman, the WVU staff extended an offer to Lawson on Feb. 5.

Lawson, listed at 6-foot-6 and 300 pounds, has the size and versatility that West Virginia covets. He even told WV Sports Now what WVU offensive line coach Rick Trickett said to him when he called him with the offer.

“They told me they like the way I play, the way I come off the ball and my physicality,” said Lawson. He also wanted to emphasize that he’s willing to play anywhere on the line that will help the Mountaineers.

A product of Virginia’s Rye Cove High School, Lawson has a three-star destruction from both On3 Sports and 247 Sports.

Besides West Virginia, Lawson also earned a recent major offers from Wake Forest out of the ACC. Overall, he also has notable offers from Liberty and Syracuse, who has been pursuing Lawson throughout the past year.
