Former Mountaineer quarterback Jarret Doege will continue his professional career on a new team. On Tuesday, the CFL’s Toronto Argonauts announced they signed Deoge ahead of the start of the preseason.

Doege spent the last two years with the Edmonton Elks, but became a free agent after being released early in May. He appeared in only four games with Edmonton in 2024 and only made one start in two years, throwing for a total of 593 yards with four touchdowns and four interceptions.

Jarret Doege spent three of his college years as a Mountaineer. He threw for 6,453 passing yards and 40 touchdowns in 27 career games and was second in the Big 12 Conference in passing completions in 2020 and 2021. Doege ended his college career at Troy.

The CFL preseason gets underway on May 30 and the regular season kicks off on June 5.
