Geno Smith Jokes About Being Fatigued After Competing in Pro Bowl Precision Passing Challenge

Being added to the NFC’s Pro Bowl roster meant Geno Smith was once again able to participate in the Precision Passing Challenge. To kickoff a weekend at the Pro Bowl in Orlando, Smith held his own throwing darts with the other Pro Bowl quarterbacks on Thursday night.

Smith threw some impresses balls and finished with 20 points, but failed to match Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield. The video below shows Smith’s full attempt.

The WVU product also participated in this competition when he was selected to the Pro Bowl to cap off his remarkable comeback story last year. After his turn was over, Smith explained what happened that saw him taper off towards the end to ESPN’s Ryan Clark. He jokingly said he got fatigued and that the only pushups he’s doing in the offseason is picking his baby up.

Smith was added to the NFC’s Pro Bowl roster on Tuesday as a replacement for Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, who withdrew from the game due to injury. This gives the WVU Sports Hall of Famer his second consecutive Pro Bowl honor

Even though Smith’s season was a drop in production and success from his remarkable comeback story of the year before, Smith still kept the Seahawks in playoff contention until the last week of the regular season.

In honor of his Pro Bowl selection, the Seahawks posted an almost 20-minute long video of Smith’s highlights.

Smith finished the season with 3,624 yards passing, 21 total touchdowns and nine interceptions. He also completed 64.7 percent of his passes in 15 games. In typical Geno Smith fashion, he kept his season in perspective after the season finale despite missing the playoffs.

“Circumstances shouldn’t dictate your mood or your effort. We fight no matter what,” Smith said after Seattle’s 21-20 victory over the Arizona Cardinals. Smith was responding to a question about how he stayed motivated after learning his team no longer had a chance to return to the postseason.
