Jordan Walker in the Mix at Safety | WVU Football All 105

All 105 is a West Virginia Sports Now series profiling each member of the 2025 WVU Football Roster.
One of the most experienced players in the Mountaineers’ retooled secondary, Jordan Walker transferred to WVU Football after spending the better part of five years at UT-Chattanooga.
A six-foot tall, 195-pound safety, Walker experienced plenty of success at the FCS level, picking off three passes in 2023 and earning Second Team All-Southern Conference honors last season.
One of three safeties with a solid chance of starting — along with Kekoura Tarnue and Darrian Lewis — Walker has soft hands and can also wrap up opposing players in their own backfield.
4 • Jordan Walker, redshirt senior safety
Last year: Walker played in six games at UT-Chattanooga on the way to All-Southern Conference Second Team honors.
Stats: 37 tackles, three pass breakups and 1.5 tackles for loss in 2024. He recorded three interceptions in 12 games the season prior.
Post-camp outlook: The Mountaineers had one of the worst secondaries in the nation last season, prompting them to bring in a host of transfers like Walker. While adjusting to the Big 12 from the FCS could prove challenging, he’s one of the more experienced defensive backs on their roster.
Projected role: Expect Walker to compete for major playing time, perhaps even a starting role. His main competitors at safety are Kekoura Tarnue and Darrian Lewis.
Accolades, highlights: An All-Southern Conference Second Team selection in 2024, Walker also picked up First Team All-State honors in his native Alabama during high school.
