JUCO stud Linebacker chooses WVU

Just moments ago the Mountaineers gained a verbal commitment from junior college linebacker Charlie Benton from Butler C.C. Benton has tremendous size and length checking in at 6’4″ 215 lbs. Benton is a versatile defender by having the ability to even play safety at times. This pledge was much needed for Tony Gibson and the defense, to continue to add more depth at the linebacker spot.

Benton was offered by West Virginia on August 16th and it did not take him long to find his home with the Mountaineers. He also holds offers from Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, Georgia State and Iowa State, it is safe to say the Mountaineers might have found themselves a steal here.

Benton will have two years of eligibility.
