Justin Crawford signs with the Atlanta Falcons

A few days following the draft and probably a few more days than he expected, former West Virginia running back Justin Crawford is no longer a free agent. Earlier today, he agreed to terms with the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent.

Crawford spent two seasons with the Mountaineers after transferring from Northwest Mississippi C.C. During those two years, he posted 2,244 rushing yards on 354 carries and 11 touchdowns.

Coming to Morgantown as a junior, he was slated to split time with then-senior Rushel Shell III before eventually taking over the starting role when Shell was sidelined with an injury. Crawford eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark in each of his two years as a Mountaineer.

The Atlanta Falcons have a pretty stable backfield with Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman but are looking to build even more depth.

Crawford has shown patience in the process and has kept his faith throughout, even after not being selected in the 2018 NFL Draft.
