WVU Football CB recruit Serious Stinyard

Serious Stinyard had to make a big life decision when deciding between WVU and Kansas State, and it appears his final choice made his mom proud.

She even publicly expressed her pride in her son, referencing how he handled himself in a mature manner. “I’m so proud of the man you are becoming. This was your first big decision and you did a great job weighing the pros and cons and you wasn’t afraid to discuss business or have difficult conversations,” she said on X (Twitter).

A week after having a memorable experience at WVU, Stinyard officially committed to the Mountaineers on Tuesday.

“This is a trip that I’ll remember forever. It’ll be hard to top,” said the cornerback about his WVU visit before eventually committing.

2025 3-Star CB Commits to WVU, Feels Nowhere Can Top West Virginia

A 2025 prospect, Stinyard (6-foot-1, 180 pounds) hails from Tampa Bay, Fla. and attends Gaither High School. He holds three stars from several major recruiting outlets, most notably ESPN, On3 Sports and 247 Sports. Each outlet rates Stinyard as one of their top 100 Florida players. On3 has Stinyard as their No. 52 cornerback in the country.

Landing Stinyard helps West Virginia’s roster and furthers the program’s Florida pipeline. He even fits the mold of what the Mountaineers usually look for in cornerback recruits, both in size and athletic ability. Stinyard is a multi-sport athlete, also excelling at a track and field in high school.

While Stinyard was in constant communication with Big 12 foes Kansas and Kansas State and Minnesota out of the Big Ten, On3 Sports always had the Mountaineers among his top schools. North Carolina State and USF were also listed up there with WVU.

Stinyard wrapped up his official visit to Minnesota on June 11 and Kansas State the following weekend.
