Mountaineers In The Super Bowl

Published

on

It all comes down to one game in less than two weeks. The world will see the Eagles take on the Patriots for the Super Bowl crown. There are a few familiar faces Mountaineer Nation will recognize.

There are four former West Virginia University Mountaineers that will be playing in Super Bowl 52. While they are all playing for the Eagles it is great to see former players playing on this big stage. The former WVU standouts are as follows: Najee Goode, Rasul Douglas, Shelton Gibson and Wendell Smallwood.

Seeing former players succeed at the next level is always a great thing for the program, but seeing four former players have a chance to win the super bowl is even better.

If the Philadelphia Eagles prevail, they’ll join the likes of a former Mountaineer who won the Super Bowl in Bruce Irvin. Irvin won Super Bowl 48 in 2013 with the Seattle Seahawks.
