Mountaineers Land Premier Maryland Athlete

Osita Smith of Wilde Lake (MD) has verbally committed to WVU over Maryland, Temple, Rutgers, and Indiana.

Smith is a three-star athlete and the 14th overall player in Maryland, whose team participated in the WVU 7 on 7 back in June. After that, Smith was invited back to Morgantown for an unofficial visit on July 27th and fell in love.

The 6’2″ 205 pound receiver/safety can help immediately with an abundance of tools. Smith is true do-it-all player, as he plays a physical style of defense which translates to the rest of his game.

He brings blurring speed to the table along with the superb ability to high-point the ball and go up and get it.

Personally, I believe Smith was under-recruited and, luckily for us, was just overlooked by a few programs.

This is a huge get for the Mountaineers, watch his junior season highlight film and see for yourself.
