Ohio State Transfer LB Gives WVU Football Another Portal Splash

WVU football makes another splash in the portal in Ohio State transfer linebacker Reid Carrico.

After visiting West Virginia the past two weekends, Carrico announced his commitment to the Mountaineers on Tuesday night. Carrico decided to transfer after getting buried on Ohio State’s depth chart.

But despite his struggles to get on the field at Ohio State, Carrico brings some necessary experience to a WVU linebacker room that was forced to play freshman Ben Cutter in a primary role last season and is losing veteran staple Lee Kpogba.

Even though he hasn’t been able to make an impact yet in college, Carrico has tons of talent. He was a consensus four-star recruit out of high school, compiling offers from the likes of Alabama, Clemson, Florida, LSU, Michigan, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Penn State, Tennessee and many others.

Carrico still has plenty of time left in his college career. He has two years of eligibility remaining.
