Pat McAfee Makes Special Announcement About WVU Baseball in College World Series
Like most of the country, Pat McAfee can’t get enough of WVU baseball. And to follow his appearance last Friday in Morgantown to watch West Virginia open the Super Regional, McAfee will help the Mountaineers kickoff the College World Series as well.
As announced on his show on Tuesday, McAfee and his crew will travel to Omaha, Nebraska and host a special show on location ahead of WVU and Troy.
Also as of Tuesday, June 9, both DraftKings and FanDuel have West Virginia as a favorite to get by Troy and then give Steve Sabinsโ team a similar shot to win the whole thing.
On DraftKings, WVU is at -210 to beat Troy in their opening matchup and +750 to leave Omaha as the champions of college baseball. Similarly, theyโre -220 on FanDuel over Troy and +700 to capture the championship. Other notable sportsbooks are offering the same type of spreads, too.
West Virginia will meet Troy on Friday, June 12, at 2 p.m. ET. The game will air on ESPN and WVU will be the designated home team.
For Troyโs path to Omaha, the Trojans hosted their Super Regional after knocking out national title contenders like Florida and Miami during the opening weekend; they swept Little Rock 2-0, winning 7-2 and 12-2 to punch their ticket for Omaha. Troy finished second in the Sun Belt Tournament and went 38-30 on the season, the first 30-loss team to make it to Omaha in nearly two decades.
The winner of the game between the Mountaineers and Trojans will then take on the winner of the North Carolina vs. Ole Miss game on Sunday at 7 p.m. ET. The losers of the two games will play an elimination game on Sunday at 2 p.m. ET.
