Pat McAfee Wishes WVU Football Good Luck in Bowl Game
Former WVU kicker Pat McAfee wished the football team good luck in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl vs. North Carolina on Wednesday. McAfee also talked about the same bowl matchup with UNC back in 2008. In that game, McAfee hit the deciding extra point to give West Virginia a 31-30 win over the Tar Heels.
“Good luck to the West Virginia boys as they beat the hell out of North Carolina,” McAfee said on his show.

McAfee has become a media star thanks to his popular podcast in his post NFL days. After retiring from the NFL at the young age of 29, he signed a deal with Barstool and helped grow both that brand and his own in the sports media world. He left Barstool in 2018 and formed his own media company, Pat McAfee Incorporated, where his podcasts are now produced.
McAfee has done a show for ESPN MegaCasts throughout the college football season, where him and his podcast crew, the Pat McAfee Show, watch the game and commentate while occasionally having guests, similar to ESPN’s popular MNF Manning Cast staring Peyton and Eli Manning.
In addition to his podcast and ESPN work, McAfee also wrestled and commentates for the WWE. He both punted and kicked at West Virginia from 2005-08 and left with the most career points in school history (384).
