I don’t think most WV fans were surprised we lost convincingly to Texas Tech on Saturday. After all, we were 23 point underdogs. But what is both shocking and disappointing is Rich Rod and his staff didn’t get the team ready to play. They didn’t show up. They were flat and clueless. Missed tackles, missed assignments, poor blocking, dropped passes, etc. They looked like a mediocre high school team.

Question… What more motivation does a team need at the end of a long, tough season – in addition to the catastrophe of two WV National Guardsmen being shot, one killed. If these events don’t motivate any WV team to stand up, fight like hell, and show a national TV audience what West Virginians are made of, NOTHING WILL!
Yes, Texas Tech is the #8 team in the nation, but that’s not an excuse for our poor performance against them. NOT!
Sadly, there were a lot of potential recruits in the stadium on Saturday. I can’t imagine what they must have concluded watching the ‘eers get their asses shot off. If I were any of them, I would be scratching my head over committing to WVU.

Bottom line… If Rich needs to fire some staff and replace with guys who can get the job done, he’d better be doing it – and soon. Most loyal fans, like me, are being very patient. But there’s a limit to patience, especially when the job is not getting done by people Rich hired and trusted to do it. Saturday’s thrashing doesn’t rub salve on a tough season, especially when our boys were embarrassed on their home field.
    SHAMEFUL!

i know wvu will never win any championship but i would like for wvu to be at least competitive every game,, but right now and in the future , i don’t see that,,, we will never win the big 12 in football, we just don’t have enough money to get the players and coaches to go that, but at least win 7 games every season, and 8 every once in a while,,, i don’t se this happening ,, i grew up in wv, i have two degrees from wvu i have been a great fan for 70 yrs, yes 70 , my mom always tuned in on the radio to listen to wvu games as she did her sat. cooking,, ,and i listened too,,, now, we just can’t get it together, after 5 yrs of brown and now i yr of rrod, i have huge doubts if we will ever be decent,, we just dont have the money to buy big time coaches and big time players ,,, so sorry

I wish I could say that the other two comments were ABSOLUTELY not the way I feel.. I can’t. With the departure of Texas and Oklahoma there was a void that needed to be filled,by a team that is going to be the “FACE” if you will of the BIG 12. It is NOT to be filled by WVU for ALL the reasons this season has produced with the final explanation point added by Texas Tech. It was the hardest watch of the season one that made it so easy to find soo many other games worth watching. I could continue venting disappointment and anger and any other emotion that fits the situation. For now I will sit back and wait and listen for the inevitable reasons, excuses, hirings, transfers in and out AND the money in and out as well.

Finally God Bless the families of the two National Guard Heroes that lost their Lives in service to our Country. That has put all of the Football whining into it’s proper perspective and place.

What could the sickness that is trump – and his minion Morrissey- illegally sending West Virginia’s finest young people to pick up trash in Washington DC have to do with WVU getting embarrassed in Morgantown? NOTHING.

RR is a horrible person and he embarrasses everyone in this state daily. He will never bring us anything but mediocrity at best and embarrassment and humiliation at worst.

NIL, the portal and paying players millions of dollars is disgusting and is ruining college sports. And I hear Baker talking about wanting to spend more than $100 million for premium seats to be added to Mountaineer Field. Who will pay for those? Not me. Ever.
