MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The devastation of another home loss coupled with Traylon Ray’s injury created a very somber mood for WVU after falling 49-35 to Baylor on Saturday night.

“I get the fans’ frustration. I’m frustrated. You gotta be able to win at home. Our people here deserve to see wins,” said Brown.

That comment embodied the entire theme of Brown’s postgame press conference.

“We have a disappointed group. I love them and that’s unconditional, but we didn’t play well enough,” added Brown, who also was forced to confirm that wide receiver Traylon Ray will miss the rest of the season after suffering a serious leg injury.

Brown then admitted that Ray’s injury sparkled an emotional downward spiral that was just simply difficult to overcome.

While West Virginia still has a chance at a postseason, granted not the one they dreamed of all offseason, both Garrett Greene and Reid Carrico mentioned that they are only focused on just trying to get a win in the next game.

Greene also evaluated his performance in his first game back in about a month as “okay but not good enough to win.” He completed 19-of-39 passes for 237 yards and then ran for 129 more, all while scoring four total touchdowns.

The loss evens WVU’s overall record to 5-5 while dropping their Big 12 mark to 4-3, officially making the rest of the season simply about winning at least one more game to earn a postseason.

For a related story, WVU fans voiced their disgust about West Virginia’s third straight home loss.
