Baylor commit Andre Iguodala II and NBA champion dad

The son of a former NBA star will be bringing his championship DNA to the Big 12. On Friday, Andre Iguodala II, the son of the four-time NBA champion, committed to Baylor. Joe Tipton of On3 Sports was first with the news.

This will now give Baylor head coach Scott Drew, who has a championship ring of his own from leading the Bears to the 2021 national title, a chance to help mold a player who grew up around the game.

But while Iguodala II carries a name known in every basketball circle, On3 refers to him as a “late bloomer” as far as a prospect.

Iguodala II, who committed after his official visit, is currently rated as On3’s No. 197 overall recruit, No. 40 small forward and the No. 8 player in Missouri for the 2025 class.

At 6-foot-6, Iguodala II, much like his dad was, is considered a “3&D” type player, meaning he has the ability to hit a long-range shot and play shutdown defense when necessary.

To no surprise, Iguodala II shares his father’s confidence.

โ€œWaco, get ready for another national championship!,” he told On3 in an interview after committing.
