Just on Thursday, West Virginia reached out to Stevenson a day after he entered the transfer portal.
Stevenson (6-foot-3, 198 pounds) will be looking to play for his fourth school in college, as he has one year of eligibility left. The Lacey, WA, native played at Wichita State for two seasons, then returned home to play at Washington, before playing for Frank Martin last season at South Carolina. During his sole season in Columbia, Stevenson averaged 11.6 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.8 assists on 33 percent shooting from three. Stevenson shot 98 percent from the free-throw line, just missing one free shot all year.
Stevenson is good friends with former West Virginia players Emmitt Matthews Jr. and Jordan McCabe, while head coach Bob Huggins is great friends with Martin. So a lot of WVU connections with Stevenson.
WV Sports Now will keep up to date with the latest recruiting and transfer portal news during the offseason.
