MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – For the past week, WVU guard Taz Sherman has been dealing with a concussion that he sustained in the final stages of the Baylor game on Feb. 1. For the first time, Sherman talked to the media about what it was like on the sidelines for the past week.

“It’s difficult when your life revolves around basketball and you can’t play it,” Sherman said after the Iowa State game. “I was rooting for my teammates last game. I knew I was going to have to come back and have a strong game. I think we did real good today.”

Sherman did not practice on Sunday per WVU head coach Bob Huggins, but did practice on Monday.

Huggins stated that everybody was worried about his conditioning, except the doctors themselves. When Sherman felt tired, he asked to be taken out, but he powered through a headache when in the game. The fifth-year senior finished with 16 points on 3-of-5 shooting from three. Sherman also grabbed eight rebounds and dished out six assists in the 79-63 win.
