Top 2027 PG Explains Why WVU Basketball is High on His List

Even with a new WVU basketball season on the horizon, Ross Hodge and his staff always have an eye on the future of the program. To that end, a top recruit in the 2027 class recently revealed what he likes about the Mountaineers so far.

While talking with the website “Stock Risers,” Micah Gordon, a New Jersey point guard, placed WVU as among the schools most heavily involved in his recruitment.

In addition to West Virginia, Gordon is also talking to Marquette, Notre Dame, Oklahoma State, Providence, and Seton Hall and VCU.

”I like West Virginia a lot. The intensity of the fans, the way their coach broke down the way I would fit in the system,” said Gordon about why he likes about the Mountaineers.

Listed at 5-foot-10 and 180 pounds, Gordon is considered a four-star prospect and ranked as best player in New Jersey in his class by 247 Sports. He’s also considered a top 15 point guard and top 65 player nationally.

Beyond the schools mentioned by Gordon, he has offers from Binghamton, Hampton, High Point, La Salle, Mississippi State and Quinnipiac.
