Top 5 Quarterbacks West Virginia will face in 2018

Although the 2018 season is still a long ways away, we take a look at some of the best signal callers the Mountaineer defense will see this upcoming season. This year, the Mountaineers only face one quarterback with double digit career starts and that is NC State’s Ryan Finley who has 26 career starts with the Wolfpack. Last year the Mountaineers faced guys like Baker Mayfield, Mason Rudolph, Kenny Hill, Nic Shimonek and Josh Jackson, this year the talent takes a big dip, which should mean good things for Tony Gibson’s defense.

So, let’s get started!

No.5 –  Shawn Robinson, TCU

This is probably a name you are unfamiliar with and that is because the true sophomore has only played in six games with one start. In that one start against Texas Tech, he finished the game going 6/17 85 yards and a touchdown. He also ran the ball ten times for a total of 84 yards in that win over the Red Raiders. Robinson may only have 27 career pass attempts, but expect him to be the Big 12’s breakout player of the year. His dual threat ability is what makes him dangerous. He is pass first, but can easily make plays with his legs if need be. If TCU wants to maintain its success from a year ago, much of that responsibility will land on Robinson’s shoulders. He was ranked the No.2 dual threat quarterback in Texas and No.7 in the country by Scout.com when coming out of high school. He was also named to the U.S. Army All-American game, but was unable to participate due to an injury.
