Former Mountaineer Victor Scott II continues to rack up stolen bases.

Scott swiped his 80th bag of the season Friday night. The official MiLB Twitter (X) account posted a video of the play with the caption, “They call Victor Scott II (@Sgf_Cardinals) the Man of Steal for a reason.” Scott’s 80 stole bases are the second most across Minor League Baseball.

Scott II is tearing it up in his first full MiLB season after being drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the fifth round of the 2022 MLB Draft. The 22-year-old outfield prospect has been stacking stolen bases all season long and is currently sitting on 75.

Beyond the stolen bases, Scott is hitting .289 with 122 hits, 71 runs scored, four home runs and 47 RBI. He also owns a .361 OBP and a .750 OPS. Oh yeah, he’s been flashing leather defensively as well.

In a related story, Victor Scott II talked about why he decided to venture the “Land of Jedd Gyorko” and the WVU baseball program for college on a podcast.
