MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – In its final game before the start of Big 12 play, West Virginia defeated Liberty 7-0 at home Wednesday afternoon.

Head coach Randy Mazey said he likes where the team is at heading into a three-game series against No. 2 Texas Tech this weekend. Mazey said he is especially happy with how his young pitchers have performed so far this season.

Freshman first baseman Matt McCormick finished the game with two hits, two RBI and two runs scored. He said he was hunting fastball all day while laying off of anything else.
