Watch: WVU Football Bringing Back Glossy Helmets

The 2025 season will mark a return to the gloss for WVU football as the “what is old is new again” theme continues with West Virginia’s helmets.
To further West Virginia’s attempt to harken back to the success of the past, the Mountaineers have decided to bring back the glossy helmets.
In making the news official, the WVU program released a video that showed Rich Rodriguez asking if he could see anything else when presented with the normal matted helmet. That’s where the glossy helmet would come in.

Rasheed Marshall, Pat White and Noel Devine, three WVU legends now back with the program, were then shown reflecting on their glory days wearing the glossy helmet.
They then passed the glossy helmet around before it got back to their coach.
