West Virginia Basketball to Play Portland State on Friday

In the last game of the first day at the PK85 event, No. 6 Gonzaga defeated Portland State 102-78. This means that West Virginia will match up with the Vikings on Friday at 9 p.m. est. at the Moda Center on ESPN News.

Portland State (2-3) comes from the Big Sky Conference, entering year two under head coach Jase Coburn. PSU defeated Oregon State 79-66 on the road last Saturday. PSU’s top-5 leading scorers are all guards: Jorell Staerfield, Cameron Parker, Isiah Kirby, Hunter Woods and Bobby Harvey.

On Thursday night, WVU fell to No. 24 Purdue 80-68 as the Mountaineers couldn’t cut into the Boilermakers’ deficit.
