Offensive lineman Johnny Williams IV is the latest WVU player to enter the transfer portal, announcing the move Thursday on social media.

“I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has been a part of my journey here at West Virginia University,” he wrote. “After careful reflection and consideration and conversation with God and my family, I have made the decision to enter my name into the transfer portal.”

A Georgia native, Johnny Williams came to WVU as a member of the 2023 signing class. He appeared in five games as a freshman while redshirting and most games this season on special teams.

Williams is the third WVU offensive lineman to enter the transfer portal this offseason, joining starter Tomas Rimac and fellow backup Sully Weidman.
