McGriff (6-foot-2, 285 lbs.) is a freshman at Northwest Mississippi Community College. In his freshman season, McGriff totaled 27 tackles with two sacks. He is a Jacksonville, Florida native. The Rangers went 8-3 last season, losing to eventual national champion Mississippi Gulf Coast in the second round of the playoffs.
