As a constant theme of the season, WVU baseball starts a new week moving up in the rankings after finishing a weekend with a series win.

West Virginia continues to inch closer to the top 10 in multiple major polls thanks to winning two out of three against Houston. Perfect Game has them just outside at No. 11, D1Baseball has WVU at No. 12, Baseball America has them at No. 14.

The Mountaineers rallied following an upset loss to open the series on Friday, taking two in a row from the Cougars.

On Sunday, WVU claimed their home series against Houston, winning 7-3 behind a strong start from Chansen Cole and home runs from Brodie Kresser and Matt Graveline.

The Mountaineers (27-9, 12-6 Big 12) carried a no-hitter into the eighth and, although their bullpen ran into trouble late, they still managed to coast to victory. West Virginia scored the first seven runs, getting started in the first inning with a double steal from Tyrus Hall and Paul Schoenfeld.

WVU will return to action at home on Tuesday, April 21, hosting Pitt in the Backyard Brawl.
