Honor Huff Sends Farewell Message to WVU Basketball Fans
WVU basketball guard Honor Huff entered the transfer portal after being granted a preliminary injunction against the NCAA, earning another year of eligibility, in October.
On Monday, Huff thanked WVU and its fans in a statement, revealing he wanted to return to WVU for another year, but roster limitations prevented it.
Huff filed a complaint against the NCAA last month in the Monongalia County Circuit Court earlier this month.
According to the complaint, Huff is filing for “temporary, preliminary, permanent, and declaratory relief prohibiting the NCAA from enforcing arbitrary and capricious decisions, breaching its contracts with its member institutions, and preventing him from participating in college sports.”
The complaint mentions recent rulings, including the one which gave Javan Buchanan and Brenen Lorient the green light for this coming season.
Head coach Ross Hodge addressed the chances of a return for Huff in an offseason press conference, saying Huff had his support but his primary concern was the present team.

Huff originally declared for the NBA Draft on April 30, but went undrafted.
Huff averaged 16.5 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists while shooting 35.9% from the field during the 2025-26 regular season at WVU.
