After West Virginia completed a 91-85 upset of No. 3 Kansas on Saturday night, the college basketball metrics updated overnight. Let’s take a look at how much WVU improved.

**rankings as of Sunday morning

NET Ranking: 154 (+ 13)

KenPom Ranking: 131 (+10)

The Mountaineers picked up their first quad-1 win of the season on Saturday. Before defeating Texas at home last weekend, WVU did not have a single win in quad-1 or quad-2. Now West Virginia has two wins.

West Virginia now sits at 7-11 and 2-3 in the Big 12. WVU has two bad losses but the Kansas win should neutralize one of those games in the committee’s eyes if the Mountaineers made a late-season run.

West Virginia will travel to Orlando, Fl. to play UCF on Tuesday night. This will be another quad-1 opportunity for the Mountaineers since the Knights are a top-75 team playing at home.
