WVU Football 2025 QB Commit Details Official Visit, Appreciation for Program

Official visits aren’t just about trying to land recruits, but to also lock up players already committed. One of those committed players who was in town for his official visit with the WVU football program over the weekend is quarterback Scotty Fox.

Now on the heels of his full weekend experience at WVU, Fox is appreciate and still looking forward to becoming a Mountaineer.

Fox, an Ohio kid listed at 6-foot-2 and 215 pounds, posted about his latest trip to Morgantown on X (Twitter) on Monday.

“Had an absolute BLAST this past weekend down in Morgantown for the OV. I appreciate all the coaches, staff and players for having such great hospitality and everything for such a great trip and all the memories made.”

Fox and his family were able to tour the campus and facility and spend more quality time with the coaching staff, in particular quarterbacks coach Tyler Allen. Despite only ascending into his new role this offseason, Allen was also on staff last year and has always been a big part of Fox’s recruitment.

The Mentor High School in Mentor, Ohio product announced his commitment to WVU after a win during the 2023 season following the game. Fox posted a graphic on social media and added “committed!!!” as the simple caption.

Fox, who initially received an offer from West Virginia back in May of 2023, has remained in steady contact with the WVU coaching staff ever since. Prior to his official visit, Fox was most recently on campus in late January with his family.

Fox also earned offers from several other major programs, but is locking in with the Mountaineers despite having multiple seasons of high school left. Boston College, Kentucky, Indiana, Marshall, Michigan State and even the team West Virginia beat on Saturday Cincinnati are among the schools who offered Fox.
