WVU Football Announces Offseason Award Winners
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – In addition to the Gold-Blue Game, the WVU football program announced their award winners from the spring practice session.
Wyatt Milum, Sean Martin, Preston Fox, Garrett Greene and Austin Brinkman were named the recipients of the 2024 Iron Mountaineer Award, presented to the most outstanding performers in WVU’s offseason strength and conditioning program.
Also, safety Avery Wilcox, a redshirt junior from Fort Mill, S.C., is the winner of the 2024 Tommy Nickolich Memorial Award. This award honors an outstanding walk-on who distinguished himself through his attitude and work ethic.
According to the West Virginia press release, this marks the first time since the award has been presented that a father (Ray Wilcox, 1992) and a son have been honored with the award.
WVU head coach Neal Brown delivered a speech to his whole team after the presentation of the awards.
