Mark Kellogg has acquired a soon-to-be fan favorite and local star for the 2026-27 WVU women’s basketball season.

Kellogg announced the addition of Alexis Bordas (Wheeling, W.Va. / Duquesne / Wheeling Park) to a grant-in-aid for the 2026-27 academic year on Tuesday, the day after she revealed her commitment on social media.

“We’re really excited to welcome Alexis Bordas home to West Virginia,” Kellogg said in a statement. “She’s one of the most decorated players our state has produced, and she’s already proven she can score and compete at the college level. Alexis brings toughness, confidence, and the ability to stretch the floor, and we’re thrilled she chose WVU.”

The 5-foot-8 guard from Wheeling, W.Va. has three seasons of eligibility left. She played her freshman season at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh.

As a freshman, she was the only player on her team to start and play in all 31 contests. She finished the season with 481 points, 95 rebounds, 49 assists and 48 steals. Her 15.5 points per game led the team and ranked fifth in the Atlantic 10 as she landed on the A-10 All-Rookie Team. She knocked down 90 threes on the season, the second most in program history and was a four-time Rookie of the Week honoree.

Bordas scored in double figures 25 times, including nine 20-point performances, and led the team in scoring on 17 occasions. She scored a career-best 38 points against Pitt, where she connected from deep on 10 three-pointers.

Bordas graduated from WPHS in 2025 and became an instant impact player. She led the team with 15.5 points per game while also snagging 3.1 rebounds per contest. She was a multi-time West Virginia State Player of the Year.

Bordas shot 34.6% from three-point range last season, converting 90 shots to tie the second-most in a season for the Duquesne Dukes. She was the only player to appear in all 31 contests.

In high school, Bordas became one of the most decorated student-athletes in West Virginia after leading Wheeling Park to an impressive 85-22 record over her four-year career. She guided her team to a Class AAAA State Championship in 2024 and a State Runner-Up finish in 2023. In her senior season, she averaged 33.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.0 steals, and 2.0 assists per game en route to being named the 2024 State Tournament Class AAAA Most Valuable Player.

She was named the West Virginia Gatorade Player of the Year three times. She also claimed the MaxPreps Player of the Year three times and was named the Mary Ostrowski Award winner (Sportswriter Player of the Year).

Additionally, she was a four-time First Team All-State, All-Valley, and All-OVAC selection. Bordas capped her high school career as Wheeling Park’s all-time leading scorer with 2,606 points and set both school and Ohio Valley records for three-pointers made with 367.
