WVU Football WR Coach Bilal Marshall

A player currently committed to join a former WVU football coach is now being recruited by the Mountaineers.

Tra’Mar Harris, a class of 2024 wide receiver product out of Winter Woods High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, received an offer from West Virginia on Monday. Harris committed to Purdue and former WVU offensive coordinator Graham Harrell at the end of June.

Listed at 6-foot-1, 185 pounds, Harris is regarded as a three-star recruit by most national outlets, most notably On3.com, 247 Sports, ESPN and Rivals. He’s also classified as a top 40 player in Ohio, with his best ranking being at number 16 thanks to On3.

When revealing his West Virginia offer, Harris mentioned WVU wide receives coach Bilal Marshall in his post. Marshall is West Virginia’s lead recruiter for most of the southern states while Blaine Stewart usually handles Ohio. But Marshall is heavily involved in trying to steal Harris due to his position as wide receiver coach.

Can Marshall steal away a solid wide receiver recruit from his alma mater?

Even though Harris still has his commitment to Purdue pinned on his Twitter (X) profile, WVU is far from the only school still perusing the Ohio product. Michigan State was viewed as the runner-up behind Purdue prior to his commitment. He also has offers from his hometown program of Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, North Carolina State, Pitt, Illinois, Virginia Tech and many others.
