Top 2021 Corner to Seriously Consider West Virginia

Earlier this week the West Virginia coaching staff extended an offer to class of 2021 corner Phillip  O’Brien of Deerfield Beach, Florida. O’Brien continues to see his “stock” rise day by day as nearly every Power Five school on the east coast is in hot pursuit for him.

O’Brien tells WVSportsNow that he knew that the West Virginia offer was coming, he  just didn’t know when it would happen. “I was very excited! They’ve had great defensive backs like Karl Joseph – who is one of my favorites to ever play the safety position in college football. Each year the WVU program improves and I’m looking forward to going to their game vs Florida State next year for the season opener in Atlanta.”

His relationship with the Mountaineer coaching staff dates back to last spring when some assistants came down to watch him and he is looking forward to building a relationship with his lead recruiter Travis Trickett. “I’m going to start taking visits after the season. Right now I’m focused on helping my brothers win a state title,” O’Brien said.

He also holds offers from Alabama, LSU, Georgia, Florida State, Penn State, Auburn, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Nebraska, Miami, Florida and many others. O’Brien did note that West Virginia is a school that he not only intends on visiting but will be a place he seriously considers.d
