WVU in Running for In-State Product, 2024 3-Star OL Robby Martin

Huntington, West Virginia native Robby Martin could be a Mountaineer. The possibility is becoming more and more real with the three-star offensive lineman recruit including WVU among his top 8 schools.
Martin (6-foot-5, 285 pounds), who previously announced he would be releasing a top 8 on May 1, tweeted a video that shows a graphic of each program he’s still considering. For what it’s worth, the fling WV shows up as the second school in the video.
I’m thankful for every school that has recruited me up to this point 🙏🏾💯, I’m Down to my Top 8 schools @RivalsFriedman @rivalskeenan @MohrRecruiting @CMAnderson247 @SWiltfong247 @billyseals47 @Billy_Ross56 @cody_carter04 @Brent_Terry@CJ_Crawford1 @hhs_highlanders pic.twitter.com/9FVchy1Hg3

West Virginia is on his updated list along with Georgia Tech, Miami (FL), North Carolina State, Tennessee and Big Ten schools Maryland, Illinois and Penn State. He was previously considering Appalachian State, Cincinnati, Duke, Virginia Tech and many others.
The Huntington High School product visited Morgantown recently on April 22. He wrote this about his visit at the time: “I had a great visit this past week at WVU, thank you for letting us come and see you guys in the spring, can’t wait to be back for a OV.”

Martin is currently a junior with one more season of high school football left, but would be a major piece for the future of the WVU offensive line if he picked the Mountaineers. While West Virginia has a couple lineman with NFL potential on the 2023 roster, it’s very likely both won’t be back in college in 2024.
The plan for head coach Neal Brown and offensive line coach Matt Moore is to keep molding the rest of the line and then hope they can be the new leaders and guide top recruits like Martin for years to come.
