Mountaineers in the Pros
WVU OL Product Doug Nester Added to Shrine Bowl Roster
Fresh off taking part in the recent Hula Bowl, WVU offensive line product Doug Nester has accepted an invite to showcase his talents on an even bigger stage.
Nester will join fellow Mountaineer Beanie Bishop at the Shrine Bowl. The Shrine Bowl and the West Virginia program both announced Nester’s inclusion on Friday.

This will now allow Nester a chance at even more exposure and another chance to be in front of NFL scouts at a premiere annual event leading up to the NFL Draft. The 2024 Shrine Bowl will take place in Frisco, Texas on Feb. 1. WVSN covered the 2023 Shrine Bowl in Las Vegas.
After speculation he would declare for the NFL Draft after the 2022 season, Nester returned for one final year as a Mountaineer in 2023. He had to fight through an injury, but was still a key member of WVUโs strong offensive line.
