It took until after midnight for the WVU baseball program to find out who they’ll meet in the NCAA Super Regional.

Little Rock pushed national power LSU to the brink, but the Tigers eventually came back and advanced with a 10-6 win to claim another regional title.

Like LSU, the Mountaineers had to win a thriller to advance, doing so over Kentucky. But unlike LSU, who did drop a game, West Virginia went 3-0 in regional play.

WVU mounted a late inning comeback for the third game in a row on Sunday, June 1, outlasting the Kentucky Wildcats 13-12 in Clemson, S.C. to advance to the Super Regional round of the NCAA Tournament for the second year in a row.

The matchup is now set. West Virginia (44-14) will travel to LSU to meet the Tigers in a three-game series with a trip to the College World Series on the line.

LSU (46-15) entered the postseason as the No. 6 overall seed and is now in the school’s 17th Super Regional. LSU has won seven national titles.

The Super Regional series between WVU and LSU will take place this weekend from June 6-9 at Alex Box Stadium in Baton Rouge, La.

Game times are as follows, Saturday at 2:00 p.m. (ESPN), Sunday: 6:00 p.m. (ESPN2) and then Monday if necessary.
