WVU Safety Using New NCAA Rule to Return to Mountaineers in 2025
While most of the WVU secondary will look different in 2025, at least one player will be back. Safety Kekoura Tarnue announced he’s returning to West Virginia to play for Rich Rodriguez on Tuesday.
The senior is able to return for one more season thanks to the NCAA’s recent ruling, allowing players who played at the junior college level extra eligibility.
He started his career at Rochester Community and Technical College in Minnesota before transferring to Jacksonville State in 2023. Tarnue recorded 35 total tackles in 2024 after posting 53 in 2023 at JSU.
He will now play for Rodriguez and new WVU defensive coordinator Zac Alley again, but this time as a Mountaineer.
