Travis Hunter Highlights Pair of Big 12 Players Drafted in First Round

Wyatt Milum and his fellow Mountaineers are still waiting for an NFL opportunity, but the Big 12 did have a couple players selected in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
With Heisman winner and two-way star Travis Hunter leading the way as the No. 2 selection to Jacksonville, Arizona’s Tetairoa McMillan also heard his name called.

McMillan was drafted with the No. 9 pick by the Carolina Panthers, handing a wide receiver weapon to Bryce Young.

Hunter caught 96 balls for 1,258 yards and scored 15 touchdowns as a wide receiver while also making 36 total tackles and four interceptions as a corner on defense for the Buffaloes. Hunter was rewarded for his historic season by becoming Colorado’s second Heisman winner in program history.
As for McMillan, he had 84 receptions for 1,319 yards with eight touchdowns. He averaged 109 yards per game and 15.7 yards from scrimmage per touch.
